Elizabeth Warren dismisses call to prove Native American ancestry claims with DNA test

Trump hits possible Warren presidency: 'Pocahontas' is losing an audience

Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said Sunday that she will not be a candidate for president in 2020.

Trump brought up his nickname for Warren during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday night. It's a term that Warren has said she considers a racial slur. "That's where I'm focused", Warren told NBC's "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd, in an interview scheduled to air in full on Sunday. But she's also been dogged by the allegation that she has claimed Native American ancestry to advance her academic career. "It's a part of me and nobody's going to take that part of me away", she added.

"I know who I am because of what my mother and my father told me, what my grandmother and my grandfather told me, what all my aunts and uncles told me and my brothers", she concluded.

President Trump has repeatedly called Warren, a Wall Street critic and potential White House rival, "Pocahontas", a notable American Indian woman in colonial history, to highlight the controversy.

Nor'easter leads to delays, cancellations at Bradley International Airport
Wednesday's nor'easter is just beginning and Bradley International Airport is experiencing some cancellations and delays. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International also has had its schedule thrown into chaos by the massive winter storm .

On Sunday, she appeared on NBC News, CNN and Fox News Sunday - a national media blitz that doesn't scream "focused on MA". "My mom and dad were born and raised out in Oklahoma, and my daddy was in his teens when he fell in love with my mother". Warren spoke on the Senate floor last week, proposing 17 amendments to the bill, which she says erodes consumer protections.

Warren went on to divulge details about her parents' insane love for one another, while touching base on the challenges they faced and explaining how her father's parents frowned upon her mother's descent.

Warren's response came after Todd read a portion of the editorial, posted on the television screen, that appeared in The Eagle's Tuesday edition. I never used my family tree to get a break or get ahead. If it did not, she could offer an apology to Native American tribes and anyone else offended by her claim. I know who I am'.

"I am not running for president in 2020". She wanted to be elected to another term as Senator and both her Republican opponent and the NY media were asking if she would finish her term. "That is just fundamentally wrong". "We need to put some focus on this and we need to make some changes on this".
