Drake Gives Over $125000 to Strangers for ''God's Plan'' Music Video

ABC News spoke with Destiny James - the lucky University of Miami student who received Drake's generous scholarship - who said she "ran in a circle and fell to the ground" after learning that Drake would be presenting a $50,000 check to her. James is a first-generation college student who was raised in a single-parent home from a low-income family.

Images shared by fans on social media show Miami Senior High students singing along as Drake performs "God's Plan" from a crane above the school's baseball field.

Little did she know that her essay had made it into the hands of Drake.

"Thank you Drake for the unbelievable surprise", the shelter wrote on its Facebook page.

Drake showed up to present her with the check after reading an essay she submitted to receive a scholarship previous year.

In late January, Drake reacted to "God's Plan" smashing its competition on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. During a recent interview, the producer said that he was surprised by the song's success. "Be good and it'll come right back around!"

The music producer also teamed up with Migos in the group's song "Deadz" and Kendrick Lamar for his track "GOD".
