Trump told ITV's Good Morning Britain show he knew nothing about the group but that he was the "least racist person that anybody's going to meet" and that his retweet was not an endorsement.

The world has learned by now that Trump's Twitter feed knows no bounds.

So did Trump actually apologize?

UK Prime Minister Theresa May criticized the president saying Trump was "wrong" to send out the tweets.

Some Britons are angry at the prospect of a visit by Trump with large protests expected when he does arrive, most probably in the second half of the year according to a senior British government source. "I know nothing about them and I know nothing about them today other than I read a little bit", he said.

'Here's what's fair, if you're telling me they're terrible people, awful racist people I would certainly apologise if you would like me to do that.

In the teaser, the United States president said sorry for retweeting the UK's anti-Muslim videos which sparked outrage in Britain. "And so you're asking me a question that I'm supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about".

First, at least one of the videos was fake; reports quickly emerged showing that the perpetrator in the video about the Dutch boy is apparently neither Muslim nor a migrant.

Sanders also stated that Trump didn't verify facts in the videos before sharing them.

Morgan, who actually tweeted at Trump the day he posted the videos to "Please STOP this madness and undo your retweets", classified the president's words as a public apology.

"I am a big believer in fighting radical, Islamic terror".

Afterward, Morgan - a man who is publicly critical of Trump yet remains a longtime friend - said that while Trump was reluctant to apologize, he believes Trump's comments were genuine. "This was a depiction of radical Islamic terror".

Trump's insistence that he doesn't know anything about Britain First might sound plausible. It's nearly as if we are being lulled into a sinister new mindset. Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, tweeted that "Britain First is a vile, hate-fuelled organisation whose views should be condemned, not amplified" and called on May to "cancel her ill-judged offer of a state visit to President Trump".

But pressed for an apology by Morgan, he said: "I don't want to cause any difficulty for your country".

"I support her, I support a lot of what she does and I support you militarily very much", he told Morgan.
