Snapchat Stories are coming to the web
Snapchat will soon allow users with the redesigned app to share stories from within the app with people who don't use Snapchat, a Snap Inc. spokesperson told International Business Times Jan. 23, 2018. As a result of this cloning, users do not see any reason to have a standalone application for sharing their daily stories. Snapchat will enable people to share and view its content outside of its app, Snapchat's parent company Snap announced on Tuesday.
According to the firm, Snapchat is one of the world's most used cameras, with the company's figures claiming more than 3.5 billion Snaps are created every day in the app.
The news also comes as Snapchat is in the midst of a considerable app redesign that puts user-generated content in a separate news feed from that of publishers.
To share stories using the new feature, users simply have to follow the steps below.
In the past few years, Snapchat's offered features have been replicated by many social media applications like WhatsApp and Instagram.
Mobile gets the fastest 3G and 4G network title These included best download speed on 3G and 4G, along with overall download speed and availability throughout the United States. All the numbers in OpenSignal's tests originate from users of OpenSignal's (terribly named) "4G WiFi Maps & Speed Test.
At launch, the feature is limited to Official Stories, Our Stories and Search Stories. Website owners will be able to copy a piece of code from the Story player on Snapchat's site to embed the Story on their own sites.
The new functionality was spotted by Matt Navarra, who tweeted a screenshot that shows what Instagram users who do have access to the feature see when they look at their own profile page. Snapchat users will be able to press and hold on the tiles in Discover feature to share Official Stories, Our Stories and Search Stories via a shareable link.
Our Stories will be available outside of Snapchat for 30 days.
There are three different types of stories that will be available to share via the app, Official Stories, Our Stories, and Search Stories. Interestingly, the company has also added that monetization of the stories is also being considered.
