A Delta IV rocket lifts off from Space Launch Complex-6 just after 2:11 p.m. PDT from Vandenberg Air Force Base Calif. on Friday Jan. 12 2018

A rocket carrying a classified USA satellite blasted off from California Friday. As usual with classified launchings, no details were provided about the satellite payload or its intended orbit. As usual, no one knows what the NROL-47 satellite is all about and what its mission is. The mission was ULA's 27th flight for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and the 36th flight of the Delta IV rocket, which first flew in 2002. Back in December 2017, Spaceflight Now's Stephen Clark had informed that "5, 2" variant Delta IV rocket had previously flown twice- in 2012 and 2016- and carried Topaz radar reconnaissance satellites into orbit.

The mission - dubbed NROL-47 - is classified, so we don't know much about the payload and what it'll be used for once in orbit. "The forecast shows a 90% chance of favourable weather conditions for launch".

Founded in 2006, ULA is a joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed Martin.

Super Mario Odyssey DLC finally brings back Luigi
By having a hard-to-find balloon and finding others' much quicker, you can earn coins and climb up an online leaderboard ranking. A set of three new amiibo figures-Mario, Princess Peach and Bowser in their wedding outfits-will be released at launch.

The mission was due to take place at Space Launch Complex-6 - around 140 miles from downtown Los Angeles in California.

The Delta IV launch system is available in five configurations: the Delta IV Medium (Delta IV M), three variants of the Delta IV Medium-Plus (Delta IV M+), and the Delta IV Heavy (Delta IV H). But this time, it has used the two-stage, 217-foot-tall (66 m) Delta IV rocket. The commercially developed EELV program supports the full range of government mission requirements, while delivering on schedule and providing significant cost savings over the legacy launch systems. "Aerojet Rocketdyne employees across the country work hard to ensure 100 percent mission success, and our role in yet another launch for the National Reconnaissance Office demonstrates the trust and confidence in our propulsion".
