Matt Patricia destined to be New York Giants head coach?
11 January 2018, 01:01 | Marlene Fleming
New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia reportedly favors to join the Giants over the Lions
According to the NY Daily News, "all signs point to" the Giants naming Patricia as their next head coach once the Patriots' playoff run comes to an end.
While Leonard did not get into too many specifics as to which signs were pointing to Patricia heading to the Big Apple, he did point out that Patricia would prefer to go to the Giants over the Lions.
The Lions are a bit of a red-headed step child in the National Football League, and the Detroit Free Press has pointed out Patricia spurning them for another head coaching job would be nothing new. If the Patriots advance to the Super Bowl, the Giants can again interview Patricia during the bye week between the conference championship and the title game.
The Patriots defense has ranked among the NFL's top 10 in points allowed in all six of Patricia's seasons despite constant question marks surrounding their secondary. Peter King of MMQB.com also says Patricia would lean toward NY over Detroit if given a choice.
Ibuprofen Use Linked to Compensated Hypogonadism in Males The study also investigated several other hormones produced by the testes that were found to be reduced by ibuprofen. It is known to increase the risk of heart attacks and stroke if taken regularly in high doses for a long time.
But also consider this: Belichick holds a strong affinity for the Giants from the glory days and has been active in grooming and advising McDaniels and Patricia in this process, and it could mean a lot to Belichick and to his legacy for Patricia to take over and turn around his former team.
Either way, it appears he'll leave New England, an organization for which he's worked 14 years.
While the Giants look to have their man, they will not be able to officially sign Patricia until the Patriots season ends, which could be as late as February 5, the day after Super Bowl LII. Leonard said Patricia is expected to be named as the next coach of the Giants, replacing the fired Ben McAdoo.
