FA Cup highlights: Watch goals from Liverpool vs Everton and Manchester United vs Derby County

For Van Dijk and Liverpool, a Winning Start

It couldn't have gone any better for Virgil van Dijk on his Liverpool debut as he scored the victor against Everton at Anfield six minutes from full-time as the Reds reached the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

His headed goal off of an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain corner kick in the 84th minute sent Anfield into an absolute delirium, instantaneously cementing himself into Liverpool folklore; you simply could not have written a better script for the Dutch global on his debut.

The most expensive defender in the world, completed his £75 million move from Southampton earlier in the month. "To score a goal is even more special".

The breakthrough came five minutes after the half-hour mark when Liverpool were awarded a penalty by referee Bobby Madley.

Van Dijk was constantly being harassed by the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Wayne Rooney, Yannick Bolasie, and/or Gylfi Sigurdsson when he would go up to win headers in Liverpool's defensive third, but used his strength and clever body positioning to his advantage, sticking to his task well.

Flier assaulted woman with wife in next seat
The victim told investigators that she woke up to find her trousers and shirt unbuttoned and the man's hand inside her trousers . But the prosecutor said that "flight attendants did not report that anyone asked them to change seats other than the victim".

Liverpool hasn't lost to Everton in 16 matches - a club record - and Everton's winless run at the home of its great rival extended to 21 games, dating back to 1999.

Milner made no mistake with the spot-kick as he dispatched the ball past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with confidence.

Holgate took serious offence to something the Anfield ace shouted at him - after pushing Firmino over the advertising board and into the crowd.

Although the finish brought the Toffees confidence, new Reds centre-back Virgil van Dijk would ultimately break their hearts with a headed finish late on in front of the Kop to seal the close affair.

Van Dijk had the final say, though.
