San Diego County reported approximately 3,900 flu cases this season compared to 599 cases this time a year ago.

In Los Angeles County, there have been 19 influenza-associated deaths reported for the 2017-2018 flu season.

Flu season officially begins in October but this year's particularly unsafe strain, H3N2, has come relatively early and the season has probably not reached its peak yet.
