USA and Russia

A Russian fighter jet made an "unsafe" intercept of an American plane, causing the aircraft to make a 15-degree roll through "violent turbulence" over the Black Sea Saturday, the Pentagon said.

A Russian fighter jet reportedly made unsafe maneuvers near a USA aircraft flying over the Black Sea, CNN reported on November 17.

The incident occurred last Saturday, when Russian radio-surveillance media identified a SU-30 to prevent violation of its borders, explained the same source.

Moscow justified the actions of the fighter jet by saying that the American aircraft was on course to illegally enter Russian airspace.

Pakistan calls in army as Islamabad protests turn violent
Many believe the social media "blackout" was meant to stop users from posting and sharing images and views about the crackdown. Qamar Javed Bajwa telephoned Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and suggested that the sit-in be resolved peacefully.

A Su-30 fighter took off, approached the air target and identified it as a USA aircraft P-8A Poseidon, it said.

"The U.S. aircraft was operating in global airspace and did nothing to provoke this Russian behavior", Lt. Col. Michelle Baldanza, a spokeswoman for the Pentagon, told reporters. During the last months, similar incidents were registered in the zone of the Baltic Sea and near the Russian western enclave of Kaliningrad, in the Kamchatka peninsula, near the US state of Alaska and in other regions. A spokesperson at the US Air Force said in a statement at the time that, "there are global standards to ensure safety and prevent incidents".

Martinez said the P-8A was "conducting a routine operation in worldwide airspace" at the time of the intercept.
