The first black British royal? Not so fast

Instead, they have opted for the lower-key choice of St George's Chapel at the Windsor Castle royal estate west of London.

Knauf said the couple, who were grateful for the warm wishes from the public, would be putting their personal stamp on their wedding day.

The American actress, who will become a senior HRH on marrying into the royals, also intends to become a British citizen. The exact date was not revealed.

"In these beginning few months and now being boots on the ground in the United Kingdom, I'm excited to really get to know more about the different communities here and smaller organizations that are working on the same causes that I've always been passionate about", she added.

Details of the much-anticipated royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have emerged, along with Meghan's plans to become a United Kingdom citizen and convert to the Anglican faith.

Giving Tuesday proclaimed in Kelowna
Giving Tuesday was conceptualized and launched in 2012 at the 92nd Street Y as a way to kick off the charitable season. Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are partnering once again to support nonprofits nationwide.

In the couple's first joint interview Monday, 33-year-old Harry said Markle immediately fitted in with his family. "They also want the day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too and are now working through ideas for how this might be achieved". Meghan moved into Prince Harry's home, Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace, earlier this month and stayed there whenever she would visit her boyfriend.

By contrast, Harry's bride-to-be Markle has been an outspoken critic of Obama's successor Trump, and at one point vowed to leave the United States for Canada if he won election.

In 2005, the monarch attended the religious blessing of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall - both divorcees - in St George's, but did not go to their civil ceremony beforehand in the Windsor Guildhall. "Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel".

Harry's great-grandparents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, are buried at the chapel.
