Two people were stabbed during an attempted robbery in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota on Sunday, authorities said.

Maddie Schwieters tells KARE-TV she was in line to see Santa when she ran toward the commotion nearby and saw two people on the floor.

At least three people were wounded in the attack, which is being described by police as "an interrupted theft".

The incident reportedly occurred in the men's department of Macy's shortly after 6.45pm local time in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The victim was stabbed, and started to yell for help. One victim was allegedly stabbed after confronting a man attempting to steal his belongings from the dressing room, Potts said, according to ABC News. One man was taken into custody. "Kind of drew attention to himself".
