Oh Dear! OnePlus 5T Review Kit Leaked
Ahead of the launch, tipster Slashleaks has put out full specifications of OnePlus' next-generation flagship on Twitter. Its bottom side accommodates a USB Type-C 2.0 port and a single speaker, as well as the aforementioned headphone jack, with the handset also featuring a three-microphone array with noise cancellation capabilities. As per the official confirmation, the OnePlus 5T launch will happen on 16th November. According to the Geekbench scores, the OnePlus 5T is able to score almost 7,000 points in the multi-core test results.
The OnePlus 5T has always been rumoured to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display, and that has been confirmed today. But it's more like a Google Pixel 2 XL than a Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+/Note8 in that the screen doesn't curve around the left and right edges. The device is 156.1 x 75 x 7.2mm in size, thus being 1.9mm taller, 0.9mm wider, and 0.1mm thinner than its predecessor, in addition to weighing 162g instead of 153g.
A major setback for the OnePlus 5T, however, is that its pre-installed OxygenOS will be based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and not Android 8.0 Oreo. It furthers confirms that the company will also introduce a 8GB RAM model of the OnePlus 5T smartphone. You will be able to make use of the Fingerprint Sensor by holding your phone. As a result, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the OnePlus 5T come in at a price somewhere around the OnePlus 5, which costs $479 for the 6GB/64GB model and $539 for the 8GB/128GB variant.
The battery remains at 3300 mAh with Dash charging capability (5V and 4A) which gives a total output of 20 watts, which can charge the smartphone from 0 to 50 in less than 30 minutes. It will come with costa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with Adreno 540. It features 6GB / 8GB RAM along with 64GB / 128GB internal storage. According to the images showing the review guide, the OnePlus 5T will sport a 16MP Sony IMX398 sensor along with f/1.7 aperture. Are the upgrades worth the switch from the OnePlus 5 to the OnePlus 5T?
From the looks of it, the OnePlus 5T is likely to have a similar RGB + Monochrome setup as Huawei's latest flagship devices. All the details will be revealed by the CEO during the launch event of this phone which is just a few days away.
