Apple Gives Reese Witherspoon-Jennifer Aniston Morning Show Series 2-Season Order, Confirms 'Amazing Stories

Apple Earnings: iPhone Sales Up Even Before iPhone X Went On Sale

While they've both enjoyed successful film careers, it's a little tempting to see this new small screen project, to be executive produced by and starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon as a reunion for the Green sisters from Friends.

Few details are known about the series other than its big stars and its concept, which is built around a morning TV show in the style of "Today" and "Good Morning America". Ms. Aniston's and Ms. Witherspoon's salaries are expected to be over $1 million an episode, according to a person who was pursuing the show.

This announcement of the still untitled series comes just months after Witherspoon-produced "Big Little Lies" picked up eight Emmy Awards for HBO.

The show and Steven Spielberg's reboot of his "Amazing Stories" 1980s anthology series are the first two original dramas ordered by Apple and follow the hiring earlier this year of Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht to oversee video content.

The company has made a handful of shows already, the most high-profile of which is probably a series version of "Carpool Karaoke", the popular bit from "The Late Late Show with James Corden".

David Moyes to receive £2m bonus if West Ham United stay up
The first thing is to win the next game and build from there, and I'm sure we will be in a much stronger position before long". If Gold and Sullivan have got it wrong, however, the future looks bleak for both Moyes and West Ham.

The two actresses are set to co-star in an upcoming series that gives an inside look at the lives and unique challenges of morning talk show hosts.

Aniston has not appeared in a regular role on a TV series since "Friends" went off the air in 2004.

The series is among the first projects the technology giant has acquired for its plunge into original television programming, where it aims to compete with established players, such as Netflix Inc and Time Warner Inc's HBO. Spielberg, Fuller, Amblin's Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey and "Bones" creator Hart Hanson are exec producers. Stelter is serving as a consultant.
