Surprise! Apple's flagship iPhone X is the most breakable iPhone ever…

iPhone X breakability and durability tests stress the need for a protective case

iPhone X Is the 'Most Breakable Ever' According to Test

In its own drop test, CNET tossed it 3 feet to the sidewalk, and iPhone X came away with a small crack and a seperate fracture on the back of the device.

In addition to the iPhone X's more limited availability at launch (20 cities' retail stores even sold out by Sunday), Localytics cautions that historical comparisons may not be the best way to analyze the new device's popularity. When he repeatedly hit the iPhone X with the hammer, its display quickly started to shatter further, suggesting that the iPhone X would still be vulnerable to cracking if dropped on a hard surface.

In a statement, Jason Siciliano, vice president and global creative director at SquareTrade said "Despite Apple's claims that their glass is the most durable ever in a smartphone, the iPhoneX is the most breakable iPhone we've ever tested". Torch the iPhone X with a lighter, however, and it'll die within seconds.

Side and Back Drop Tests: Remarkably, the side drop did the most internal damage to the phone.

1 dead, 2 hurt in shooting at Chicago Starbucks
A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound following a shooting took place at 8.10pm (1.10am GMT) local time. Buslik said police believe the wounded boy and man knew the dead man but did not elaborate on their relationship.

Meanwhile, SquareTrade, a company that provides extended warranties for electronic devices, has crowned the new Apple handset the "most breakable yet", after putting it through a series of tests created to measure its durability. On the first face-down drop, the firm saw the glass front shatter, the display become unresponsive, and Face ID stopped working. The back drop resulted in significant shattering of the back panel, including shards of glass, according to 9to5Mac. For the water dunk test, in which the phone was placed somewhat deep under water for 30 minutes, the phone was somewhat unaffected aside from a little audio muffling. Nevertheless, SquareTrade conducted it and found that there were some cracks, but most harm was done to some of the iPhone X's operability. Compare that with the iPhone 8's rating of 67 earlier this year, and it seems that Apple's mandate to innovate each device comes at the cost of structural integrity.

Of course, SquareTrade offers up insurance plans which are often cheaper than plans you may be able to get through your carrier.

The fact that the new iPhone can take damage so easily is not a good sign when it is priced at a thousand dollars and up.
