iOS 11.1 Issue Autocorrects 'i' to 'A'; Apple Details Workaround Ahead of Fix

Weird iOS 11.1 bug autocorrects i to A -- here's how to fix it

The odd bug causes the English first-person pronoun to appear as the letter "A", accompanied by a weird unicode character, when typed in a text field.

They added: "The new emoji will debut in next week's developer and public beta previews of iOS 11.1, and will be available in upcoming software updates for iOS, macOS and watchOS".

An iPhone "i" bug is afflicting Twitter threads and iMessage conversations everywhere, thanks to an iOS 11 autocorrect error.

Not all users seem to be affected by the bug.

Go to Settings General Keyboard Text Replacement.

A odd bug affecting some devices running iOS 11.1 prevents people from typing the letter "i".

"I had to turn off my auto correct which is super annoying", wrote another iPhone user on Apple's discussion forum.

Surprise! Apple's flagship iPhone X is the most breakable iPhone ever…
Of course, SquareTrade offers up insurance plans which are often cheaper than plans you may be able to get through your carrier. The fact that the new iPhone can take damage so easily is not a good sign when it is priced at a thousand dollars and up.

User @mcwm tweeted: 'I have a $1,150 [£877] telephone that can't read the letter "i"'.

Apple can be expected to give more clarity about the bug at the time of releasing its fix sometime in the coming future.

Of course, you can see how frustrating this is for all users of the iPhone since the vowel is used in nearly every sentence.

This will permanently replace all use of the letter "i" with its uppercase version without going through predictive text. For Grammarly Premium users, the keyboard will also improve word choice and suggest style improvements so the need for "Sent from my iPhone" can become a relic of the past.

Now when you type "i" and hit space, it should automatically correct itself to "I".

Apple of course didn't take long to start fixing bugs with small stability-improving updates, but as so often happens, new software flaws continued to emerge, even after the first bigger platform renovation effort rolled out.
