10-Year-Old Boy Leads Cops On High Speed Chase In Ohio (WATCH)

Police dash cam video shows several cop cars chasing after the young driver as he flies down the OH turnpike.

Three Westlake officers tried to stop the 2004 Toyota Avalon along the interstate and followed it for more than 15 miles (24 kilometers) at high speeds until the boy drove through a toll booth and entered the westbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike, Westlake police Capt. Guy Turner said. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers chased him for 50 miles before finally catching him, ABC News reported.

The boy, who is from the Cleveland area, took the vehicle around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday as he was waiting for his older sister to take him to school, the New York Daily News reported. The boy was unharmed during the chase. Other police cars blocked the vehicle and prevented it from re-entering the road. At that point one trooper was able to make eye contact with the boy and direct him to pull over, but he kept going, according to the police report.

"I told him, he could've hurt somebody, he could've hurt himself, or he could've been killed, he could've killed somebody else ... and you knew you were wrong".

According to the Cleveland Police Department, the boy left his mother's home on Hadley Road in Cleveland around 9 a.m.

Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper Richard Reeder said eight cruisers were involved in the chase.

It's not the first time the boy has taken a vehicle for a joyride.

The tow truck driver who responded to the scene marveled that no one died in the chase.

Other motorists spotted him October 16 on Interstate 90 near West 117th Street after taking his mother's auto.

The boy told the officers he took his mother's auto because he was bored, police said.
