BSNL partners Micromax to launch 4G feature phone for Rs 2200

Micromax Launches Bharat 1 4G Feature Phone with BSNL; Offers Unlimited Calls and Data
BSNL said that users will get unlimited voice calling and internet services at just Rs 97 per month. Micromax is calling it 'Desh ka 4G phone', and says it will be available from retail stores starting Friday, October 20.
The Bharat 1 comes with an unlocked SIM, which essentially means users can run any network SIM on the device. Micromax with the launch of its 4G feature phone Bharat 1 will compete with JioPhone and Karbonn A40 Indian.
The 4G feature phone comes in a candy bar design with alpha numerical keypad. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor to ensure a lag-free performance.
It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA selfie camera. Since the Bharat 1 is targeted at the feature phone market, BSNL is going aggressive with the data plan.
It also has multiple content options under Micromax Entertainment ranging from Live TV to music, movies and videos, which are available under the suite of entertainment apps, for users to watch their favourite content on the move. In addition, the device comes pre-installed with BHIM UPI payments app and BSNL's wallet app.

"Both Micromax and BSNL have been working with the aim of bringing the next wave of unconnected users on the Internet". The company launched the device in collaboration with BSNL for a price of Rs 2,200.
"We are proud that we are partnering with Micromax, a home-grown player which has been a key player in India's growth journey and has contributed more than 150 million mobile users and this number is ever increasing", said Anupam Srivastava, CMD, BSNL. Users will not be restricted to BSNL's network in the Bharat 1 mobile.
