But with the launch of the Mi Mix 2 in India on Tuesday, Xiaomi is once again trying its hand at the premium segment after the Mi 5 early previous year. All these phones are priced at the Rs 35,000-range. Nokia 8 comes in at Rs Rs 36,999 for 4GB + 64GB version.
Back in March 2016, Xiaomi launched Mi 5 flagship smartphone in India.
There is no simple answer to this and let me explain why. Overall, the phone feels quite futuristic and offers all of this at a relatively affordable price when you compare it to other bezel-less phones. It comes with a 5.99-inch full-HD (1080×2160 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio) LCD display having a pixel density of 403ppi and supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC & USB type c reversible connector. There is 6GB of RAM with 128GB and runs on Android 7.0 MIUI 9 on top. On the front, the handset features a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with autofocus and facial recognition technology support, which can be used to unlock the smartphone.
But the Mi Mix 2 isn't one to stay in its predecessor's shadow for too long - it features upgraded specs, improved materials, and-of course-reduced bezels. Xiaomi, in the past, has launched a smartphone over Rs 20k. The recently launched Xiaomi A1 is also getting a very positive response and is getting sold out in a few minutes during its flash sale. Now, the next innovation is in the display technology, and as you can see, the trend is shifting towards taller displays. The Mi Mix 2 also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security. In China, Xiaomi also offers a Special Edition of the Mi MIX 2, which comes with 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and has an all-ceramic body. But, the company has introduced a pair of Mi noise-cancelling earphone with Mix 2 today, we will talk about them later in the post. It's smaller. It's more approachable. Thankfully, it packs Corning Gorilla Glass 4 in the front and a scratch-resistant ceramic rear.
The fit and finish of this smartphone are on par with the likes of Samsung and LG and Apple. The 35,999 INR device will be available in matte black, which is full metal unibody design. The phone is a pleasure to use in the hand and a sight to behold.
The company - which has already clocked $1billion in revenue from its India operations and is on its way to more than doubling it this year - will consider three key factors of market maturity, life cycle of the company in a region and its team capability, before bringing any of its internet services to India.
Microsoft Dives Deeper into 'Mixed Reality' with VR Devices
By all reviews , the headset is a little more VR than AR - but the Oculus Rift competitor should have gamers somewhat excited . Samsung has teamed up with AKG, the Austrian manufacturer for headphones and microphones for their built-in headphones.
Netflix Raising Prices in US, Parts of Europe
This made a lot of people ask whether or not this would effect T-Mobile's Netflix On Us promotion and, it doesn't. Original productions cost money, after all, and it's not a particularly hard price increase to swallow.
Southgate: England fans may hold Euro '96 against me
England's performance on Thursday was disjointed, lacklustre and lacked any semblance of creativity - and that's being kind. Joachim Low's men have secured their spot in Russian Federation next year by winning all their nine qualifiers.
