Eagles-Chargers 5 matchups to watch

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) - After throwing three interceptions in Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, including picks on two of his first four pass attempts, maybe it wasn't a surprise that Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers didn't have much to say during his commute after the game. Quarterback Philip Rivers was spectacular in that game, going 36 of 47 for 419 yards and 3 touchdowns.

"It was a quiet ride home Sunday, at least for the first 30 minutes", Rivers said.

Rivers and Koo get some redemption with a big game and winning kick, respectively.

- Six of the Eagles' eight sacks have come with a four-man rush.

- Wentz is just 3-for-16 on throws that have traveled 20 or more yards in the air. Close games were an issue for the Chargers in their final season in San Diego and they already have suffered two defeats in which late field goals were unsuccessful. His main talking point has been that one win should lead to another and another, as long as the Chargers find that first one soon. Normally that would mean this game should be an easy win, but there is nothing predictable about the Chargers.

"Seems like years past ... when being put in situations like this ... we play our best when we're a little bit backs against the wall and a little bit nothing to lose", said Rivers, who is in his 14th season with the Chargers.

Unfortunately for the five fans of the L.A. Chargers, it looks like their home stadium has been taken over been Eagles fans, and this doesn't feel like a home game anymore. The Eagles' Lincoln Financial Field, by comparison, seats about 69,000 on game day - that's about 2.5 times the size of StubHub Center. Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley will be sending pressure all game long especially with defensive end Melvin Ingram on fire right now with 5.5 sacks, second in the National Football League, and Joey Bosa wreaking havoc on opposing offensive lines.

Falcons Stay Perfect After Lions' Late Rally Comes Up a Yard Short
Ryan has torched Detroit for 507 yards with six touchdowns and one interception in the last two meetings. Got to give yourself as many shots as you can, and I think we gave ourselves a number of shots at it.

The Nielsen TV rating for the Chargers-Dolphins game on KFMB Channel 8 was measured at a mere 12.3. "I thought Jalen did a good job of that, and tackled, and it was an important part of our win". Just like that, if the team loses in NY, the Chargers could be 0-8.

While Wentz is the focal point of Philadelphia's offense, the team's defense comes into the game with the 21st overall ranked defense, allowing 22.7 points per game (ppg).

But even if he's able to keep a clean sheet this time around, there's still a decent chance we see a missed FG in this one.

The Eagles are getting the Chargers at an interesting time.

Fantasy impact:Gordon averaged 3.9 yards per carry a year ago.

The Eagles face their second AFC West opponent in three weeks, and they'll do so at a soccer field with about 15 people in attendance.
