Ben Stokes 26 was arrested on suspicion of assault

The footage provided to The Sun of the subsequent brawl outside Mbargo nightclub shows a man who closely resembles Stokes swinging punches at two men, one of whom can be heard dropping a bottle.

Stokes, who has been suspended indefinitely by the European Central Bank, is waiting to see if he will be charged by police over the incident which saw him arrested and kept in a cell overnight.

"There is an ongoing police investigation, which will look at all available evidence, and we do have to respect that process".

Test vice-captain Stokes was included in England's Ashes squad announced Wednesday, despite reportedly injuring his hand in the incident that led to his arrest on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

Moeen, who was man of the series in England's 3-1 Test series victory over South Africa in the summer, added of Stokes: "I think we all know how good a cricketer he is, and what he can bring to the table".

England has suspended Ben Stokes and Alex Hales until further notice pending investigations into their involvement in an incident on a night out. For the time being, he has retained his position of vice-captain to Test skipper Joe Root but England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) cricket director Andrew Strauss told an Oval news conference.

In another image, a semi naked girl could be seen wearing a cricket shirt, with Hales's, name across the back.

"I genuinely can't wait".

If Stokes is found guilty, there is every possibility he might end up in jail which could risk his participation in the upcoming Ashes series.

Following the controversy, both Hales and Stokes were suspended indefinitely by the European Central Bank.

The allrounder has been in superb form in the past year and a half driving England's home success.

Although some figures in the European Central Bank are understood to have some sympathy for Stokes' actions, if the circumstances he has described are accurate, the fact that the two men have yet to come forward despite blanket media coverage of the incident will be a major concern to the player.

"With the confidence I've got throughout the year, I feel that I can just go out and play the way I do", he said. Stokes told The Times in an interview published on Saturday he enjoyed a couple of beers after stumps. "I'm 26, not 14".
