NSA Previously Warned Jared Kushner, White House Officials Against Using Personal Email

Trump aid Kushner registered to vote as a woman: report

Use of personal devices widespread in Trump's West Wing

But the NSA's concern is that without being able to closely control the access points between the personal devices and the outside world, security agencies can not guarantee foreign espionage services have not broken into them.

The NSA warned aides in classified briefings shortly after Trump was sworn in as president in January. McGahn ultimately stayed in his role, in part due to the White House hiring a legal team to manage inquiries related to the Russian Federation probe, the Journal said. Or allow whoever was spying to take photos and video or transfer vast amounts of data, as a former senior USA intelligence official familiar with the briefings told Politico they were warned could happen.

Specifically, Kushner was aware that using a personal device for work would give cypberspies access to their work computers and emails.

A White House official reacted to the Journal's story by telling the newspaper that McGahn "did not consider resigning, and he was not concerned about any one individual". Kushner and other officials were also expected to take part of the briefing.

China takes issue with Japan over N. Korea; calls Abe 'belligerent'
Since Kim rose to power after the death of his father, Kim Jong Il, in 2011, he has ramped up nuclear and missile weapon tests. North Korea's aging MiG fighters won't stance a chance against much more powerful US fighters escorting long-range bombers.

Politico said at least five current and former White House officials used private email to conduct government business: Trump's son in law and adviser Jared Kushner, daughter Ivanka, economic adviser Gary Cohn, former strategic adviser Steve Bannon and former chief of staff Reince Priebus.

Jared Kushner's bad week just got a little weirder. If hackers were to break into his email and cell phone, adversaries could steal information related those areas.

White House officials in the early days of the Trump administration were given security briefings on the dangers of using personal devices such as laptops and cellphones, and the risks of using personal email accounts for government work, a source familiar with the program told ABC News.

Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Sen. CNN obtained a letter that the chair and vice chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence sent Kushner after they had learned through news reports that his attorney had confirmed that he had sent and received about 100 e-mails from a personal address hosted on a private server. "Please confirm that the document production that you made to the committee - and any and all search of email accounts for that document production - included the additional "personal email account" described to the news media, as well as all other email accounts messaging apps, or similar communications channels you may have used". Predictably, the news prompted a response resentful response from former Hillary Clinton, who was repeatedly criticized by President Trump during the 2016 election campaign for her own private email use.
