Nigeria vs. Benin- Friday Ubong Anthony Okpotu

Ghana avenged a group game loss to their arch-rivals in fine style after they annihilated the Eagles in the second half after they led 1-0 going into the break.

Nigeria pulled a consolation goal in added time as Rabiu Ali flawless inched free kick beat Ghana's Joseph Addo at his near post.

So while it was the ideal story ending for Ghana's Black Stars B, it was an anti-climax for the Nigerians who were forced to suffer a 1-4 humiliation in yesterday's final watched by a capacity crowd.

In the 60th minute, just when the Super Eagles of Nigeria were chasing for an equalizer, substitute Patrick Razak got fouled by a Nigerian defender in the penalty box.

Ezenwa, who did not concede any goal before the final game, was awarded the best goalkeeper award.

Eagles-Giants Week 3 inactives, with analysis
But make no mistake: NY is brinking on disaster with another loss in a season that began with well-founded Super Bowl aspirations. This week the Eagles will play without cornerback Jaylen Watkins and safety Corey Graham, both nursing hamstring strains.

"To be fair to the team, they went for an worldwide tournament without camping, played six matches, five of which they did not concede a goal until the final match".

Ghana were reduced to 10 men in the added time when Atinga was sent off for a second bookable offence, but that did not stop them from making it 4-0 through Winful Cobbinah, who tapped home following a lovely work from Patrick Razak.

Stephen Sarfo put the victory beyond doubt when he converted from the spot on 78 minutes to make it 3-0 and register his fourth goal fourth of the tournament.

Ghana, however, began to gain a foothold on proceedings, forcing Nigeria goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa into a number of saves before Sarfo broke the deadlock in the 44th minute. This game will be a great opportunity to redeem our image after we failed to qualify for the 2018 CHAN.

In the third place match played earlier, Niger republic defeated Benin 2-1 to win the bronze of the tournament.
