Leonardo DiCaprio Reportedly Wanted By Warner Bros For Rumored Joker Movie
02 September 2017, 01:26 | Cassandra Thompson
Martin Scorsese's new Joker film will be super dark and ''real''
Celebrated director Martin Scorsese is already on board to produce the movie, and reports say that Warner Bros. hopes the legendary filmmaker will convince DiCaprio, who has starred in several of Scorsese's previous movies, to take the lead role. According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the actor being eyed for this non-Leto Joker might be none other than Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Joker, one of the most famous and notorious villains in the DC universe, is set to star in another movie yet again, but this time, the famous villain will also have to share the spotlight with his girlfriend and partner in crime, Harley Quinn. Scorsese and DiCaprio are frequent collaborators and good friends, having previously worked together on critically-acclaimed films such as Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, and The Aviator.
DiCaprio is one of the biggest actors in Hollywood, an extremely recognizable face that's become synonymous with quality performances and projects.
This scheme is still in its very early stages, though, because there's not only no offer on the table yet for Leonardo DiCaprio, but also no signature on Martin Scorsese's deal. The 30 Seconds To Mars frontman was reportedly taken aback by the studio's plans to create a The Jokerorigin movie that didn't involve him.
