Martin Scorsese's new Joker film will be super dark and ''real''

The Joker Origin Story On Deck: Todd Phillips, Scott Silver, Martin Scorsese Aboard WB/DC Film

Celebrated director Martin Scorsese is already on board to produce the movie, and reports say that Warner Bros. hopes the legendary filmmaker will convince DiCaprio, who has starred in several of Scorsese's previous movies, to take the lead role. According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the actor being eyed for this non-Leto Joker might be none other than Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Joker, one of the most famous and notorious villains in the DC universe, is set to star in another movie yet again, but this time, the famous villain will also have to share the spotlight with his girlfriend and partner in crime, Harley Quinn. Scorsese and DiCaprio are frequent collaborators and good friends, having previously worked together on critically-acclaimed films such as Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, and The Aviator.

DiCaprio is one of the biggest actors in Hollywood, an extremely recognizable face that's become synonymous with quality performances and projects.

This scheme is still in its very early stages, though, because there's not only no offer on the table yet for Leonardo DiCaprio, but also no signature on Martin Scorsese's deal. The 30 Seconds To Mars frontman was reportedly taken aback by the studio's plans to create a The Joker origin movie that didn't involve him.

Big Ten preseason power rankings: Buckeyes lead the way again
They team with quarterback Trace McSorley to give the reigning Big Ten champions one of the nation's most intriguing offenses. There are several players who are from Texas and have family near Houston, including graduated quarterback J.T.

Jared Leto, who starred as The Joker in 2016's "Suicide Squad", will not be playing the character in Phillips and Scorsese's film.

Could Warner oh, so serious about Leo as The Joker? "When Harry Met Sally on Benzedrine".

If this new rumor is true, it could make the non-DCEU Joker movie a must-see product for both comic book fans and regular movie viewers.

At first glance, the rendering most evokes the menace and anarchist look of Heath Ledger's Joker from The Dark Knight, right down to the colors used to bring the image to life.
