Microsoft describes the Xbox One X as the "most powerful console" thanks to a 6 teraflop GPU, clocked at 1.172 Ghz, 12GB of GDDR5 graphics memory and 326 GB/s of memory bandwidth.
Microsoft appears to be in talks with Sony about opening cross-platform play for the PlayStation 4, according to Xbox head of marketing Aaron Greenberg in an interview with Gamereactor.
However, it remains a refinement of the Xbox One series - and, more specifically, last year's delightfully slim Xbox One S. Ybarra emphasized: "We've got 360 back compatible games, original Xbox back compatible games and everything that runs on the S will run on the X and vice versa".
"We've been doing that with PS3 and PC, PS4 and PC most recently with Street Fighter 5 and Rocket League and other games".
"We are also thrilled to be bringing the Xbox One SMinecraft edition to the United Kingdom exclusively through Argos and Sainsburys which will be a top limited edition purchase for families and Minecraft fans". They only need to trade it in when Xbox One X starts shipping (November 7th).
Mario, Luigi and Samus cars coming to Rocket League The Samus auto will also have different colors depending on which team you are on, styled after different Varia suits. Along with the new Battle-Cars, Rocket League on Switch will also have several exclusive customization items.
"So we're talking to them and we're hopeful that they'll be supportive of it".
The company is "really proud" of the Xbox One S, and they expect to continue selling "a lot" of the standard model, but they know that core gamers are going to want the very best, and alongside the benefits of more power and more memory, and a lot of them are going to choose Xbox One X.
"Get Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition before it's gone forever", reads the teaser from the company.
Before its official unveiling, the new Xbox was known under its code name "Project Scorpio", which Microsoft is now using to market a limited edition of the device to hardcore fans.
Key specifications of the Xbox One X include 8GB flash memory, 12GB GDDR5, 1TB HDD, 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc drive, HDMI 2.0b, AMD FreeSync, DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1, TrueHD with Atmos, Bluetooth, Dual band Wi-fi and IR Blaster.
Google's Chromebook Pixel 3 could be here sooner than you think
Whether or not this new Chromebook Pixel is the Bison or not, though, it's expected to be a Chromebook rather than run Andromeda . A smaller, cheaper update would certainly be a welcome development, if Amazon's success with its Echo Dot is any indicator.
