Report: Roger Goodell Close To Signing Extension Through 2024

DeMaurice Smith Accuses Roger Goodell Of Lying About Collaboration

Sports Business Journal first reported the contract negotiations.

Goodell, whose current deal is set to end in 2019, has at times been at odds with some of the league's most powerful owners.

The 58-year-old Goodell originally assumed his role atop the National Football League back on September 1, 2006. He made $32 million in fiscal year 2015 and, according to ESPN, made $212.5 million in his first 10 years as commissioner, beginning in 2006, when he took over for Paul Tagliabue.

Though a deal is most likely to get done, those talks for Goodell's new deal have not progressed,'s Adam Schefter reports.

Looks like NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be around for a bit longer.

Samir Nasri seals move to Antalyaspor from Manchester City
Antalyaspor narrowly missed out on Europa League qualification last term after finishing fifth in Super Lig. The player will link up with former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o at Antalyaspor , who now captains the side.

When the revised policy, which was unanimously approved by the owners in 2014, was revealed, the association issued a statement expressing displeasure on not being able to collectively bargain any changes to the policy.

Goodell has been criticized for his handling of the Ray Rice domestic violence case and several other instances where players were accused of assaulting women.

The NFL office has given up its status as a non-profit, flimsy as that was anyway, so it is no longer required to make Goodell's salary public.

The league avoided a lockout in 2011, but Demaurice Smith, the executive director of the NFLPA, told Sports Illustrated last week that a work stoppage in 2021 is "almost a virtual certainty". One issue Smith says he will be focused on is Goodell's authority in disciplining players.
