Jamie Vardy celebrates with Shinji Okazaki after scoring the second. 3-3, min. 83, Ramsey.

Arsenal turned around the league's first Friday opener in the closing minutes at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners got off to the flawless start, with record-signing Alexandre Lacazette scoring after just 94 seconds, via his his first-ever shot in the Premier League.

The match seemed to be following the normal script as the Gunners trailed the visitors 3-2, until Aaron Ramsey levelled things up with seven minutes on the clock, before Giroud sealed the three points in the 88th minute with a thunderous header.

The Gunner started the game with a three back formation and looked extremely vulnerable to Leicester City's counter attacks.

One player Arsenal have been linked with is Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.

Arsene Wenger is desperate for Arsenal to get a fast start in the League against Leicester tonight, but as usual on the opening day, we don't have a fully fit squad to choose from yet.

Lacazette converted his first chance in the Premier League, heading home Mohamed Elneny's inch-perfect cross to send the home fans into raptures.

"The Premier League is the most competitive league in the world and Arsenal are one of the best clubs in it, year after year they've shown their consistency", he said.

Arsenal responded positively but Schmeichel was up to the task, stopping Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's long shot before getting across just in time to deny Hector Bellerin.

However, Maguire was there to block his shot after Mesut Ozil's cutback after more intricate passing around Leicester's box.

"I believe that since January we have played in a very hard environment for different reasons", said Wenger.

Olivier Giroud found the victor for Arsenal late on.

He drove at Arsenal's defence and his sublime whipped cross found the England worldwide who couldn't miss from inside the six-yard box completely against the run of play.

Five minutes added time can Arsenal hold on or Leicester will get a share of the spoils at the Emirates??

All that was left was for striker to tap into an empty net, something he did with conviction.

After a much-needed break for all involved to take a deep breath, the second half started in much quieter fashion until ten minutes into the second period.

Even though they showcased most of their flaws on Friday, you can't fault the spirit of Arsene Wenger's men.
