His assailant, Estill's Malcolm Orr pulled a gun and opened fire, hitting the officer in the neck and chest, as well as breaking both his arms.

Estill Police Officer Quincy Smith was shot four times January 1, 2016, while responding to a call.

The man, who was later identified as Orr, can be seen in the video wearing camouflage and a red bandana and walking in a small grassy area.

Orr was eventually caught and Officer Smith received medical attention.

The video was released yesterday and helped convict Ore of attempted murder.

A SC man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after a police officer's eyeglass camera recorded the man shooting him.

Smith survived the shooting despite suffering two broken arm bones and a life threatening wound to his neck. He radios into dispatch, "Dispatch, please tell my family, I love them".

The solicitor's office says at least two of the eight rounds were fired while Smith was lying on the ground and another two were fired as Smith ran for cover, back to his parked patrol auto.

Video recorded from a SC police officer's glasses camera and released to the public on Thursday shows the moment the officer was shot four times.

Smith was struck with four shots, according to CBS News.

"Take your hands out of your pocket!" the officer can be heard saying in the footage.

With the men just feet apart, Smith points his stun gun at Orr.

A witness then comes to the officer's aid and assures him that help will arrive soon.

The Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor's Office shared the entire video taken on Officer Smith's glasses. "I'm going to stay here with you man".

"Shots fired", the officer is heard screaming, as he falls to the ground.

The shocking footage was released after Orr was sentenced to 35 years in jail, being found guilty of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Smith said he prays for Orr and his family.
