Trump uses Twitter to promote leaked intelligence on North Korea

US President Donald Trump says North Korea "will be met with fire and fury" if it threatens the US.

He said during a conference: 'North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States.

"They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen", Trump said.

The U.S. has expressed a willingness to work with Korean leader Kim Jong Un. "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen", Trump said, according to Reuters.

His harsh comments to reporters came hours after The Washington Post, citing a confidential Defense Intelligence Agency report, said North Korea has produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit inside its missiles.

The UN recently agreed further economic sanctions against the country. "And it was a gut punch to North Korea to let them know the worldwide community is exhausted of it and we are going to start fighting back", the former SC governor said during an interview with Fox News. The strongest United Nations sanctions in a generation may still prove no match for North Korea's relentless nuclear weapons ambitions.

Also on Tuesday US president Donald Trump praised the worldwide coalition coming together to pressure North Korea over its intercontinental ballistic missile launches "after many years of failure".

Donald Trump has retweeted a Fox News report based on anonymous USA intelligence sources, despite his attorney general's pledge to clamp down on government leaks.

According to a USA official briefed on the assessment, this milestone does not mean North Korea has a nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) as they must show the weapon can survive reentry.

At times the administration seemed to signal, nearly casually, that it was considering a preemptive strike on North Korea, which could trigger a land war on the Korean peninsula and the deaths of tens of thousands of people. Trump wrote in a tweet.

"North Korea is not showing any evidence it plans to halt its missile tests", an unnamed US official told Fox News.

"We strongly urge the United States to immediately correct its relevant wrong moves to avoid affecting bilateral cooperation on the relevant issue", he said in June.
