Tesla Model X Is $3000 Cheaper Today Due to Improved Margins

Looking at its baseline specifications, which corresponds to the often-advertised $35,000 version of the vehicle, the Model 3 has a range of 220 miles, accelerates from a standstill to 60 miles per hour (mph) in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph.

Production of the electric auto aimed at the broader market - with a starting price of $35,000 - will ramp up quickly, according to Musk, with 100 in August and 1,500 or more in September.

The debt sale will test Musk's ability replicate the fervent following he's built among stock investors, who've bought into his vision of a clean-energy future and pushed the shares up 67% this year.

Tesla has produced only around 50 of the Model 3 cars so far, including 20 for testing purposes. Essentially, Tesla is borrowing money from investors and agreeing to pay them the money back plus interest.

In a statement on Monday (7 August), the United States carmaker said it will raise the funds via the selling of bonds to institutional investors.

Initial production of the Model 3 started in July, with a target of 400,000 to be made next year. The credit rating agency also assigned Tesla a Corporate Family Rating (CFR) of B2, based on the expectation that Tesla can ramp the Model 3 and sell 300,000 units during 2018 at a gross margin of around 25%.

Google Play Store now priotises stable apps
To determine its new ranking, Google says it has to look at a variety of "quality signals" related to an app's performance. One other way Google is also ramping up stopping these bad Android apps is that Google is now using machine learning.

But last week, Musk clarified his comments, and said Tesla should be able to overcome any supplier issues and other potential obstacles.

The rating agency said the overall company's "B2" rating was supported by the fact that if Tesla ends up in serious financial trouble, its brand name, products and physical assets would be of "considerable value" to other automakers. Rather, Musk is showing his company's commitment to them by not diluting their stock with an equity sale. "Obviously, that's like the promised land right there". The company's revenue for the quarter was up 119.6% on a year-over-year basis.

At the end of June, Tesla had total cash on hand of US$3.0bn, compared to US$4.0bn the previous quarter.

"There is a well-developed track record of successful investments and generating returns on those investments", said James Albertine, a senior analyst at Consumer Edge Research, told Bloomberg. The company sold about $965 million in convertible notes and $400 million in stock in March.

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA)'s stock had its "underperform" rating reissued by equities researchers at Bank of America Corporation in a report released on Thursday.

Tesla also is involved in installing solar-paneled roofs and producing batteries that can store the energy and power homes.
