BREAKING: Cause Released on Fatal Ohio Fair Incident

Ride manufacturer says 'excessive corrosion' led to deadly accident at Ohio State Fair

Manufacturer of the Fireball ride, KMG, has revealed the cause of the tragic Ohio Fair incident that occurred on July 26th. Almost two weeks later, the cause of the accident was revealed.

It said the corrosion "dangerously reduced" the thickness on the wall of the beam holding a passenger gondola on the swinging and spinning ride.

Four of the victims - including Jarrell's girlfriend and an 18-year-old woman who is in a coma - remained hospitalized last week. Lewis is in serious condition.

The accident happened on the Fireball thrill ride, when one row of seats detached from the supporting arm of the attraction while it was in motion.

Tyler Jarrell, 18, was killed in the state fair accident.

It was not revealed on which leg De Grasse suffered the torn hamstring, which happened in a Monday training run. Athletics Canada head coach Glenroy Gilbert said the timing was bad for De Grasse.

"Commissioner Berry, as we've said before, if a ride has passed inspection by our inspectors in our department, she would feel comfortable putting her grandchildren on that ride", said Jason Tyson, a spokesman for the Labor Department. He was about to begin his senior year in high school and had enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps the week before he was killed.

Jarrell's family has hired a civil attorney to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit, according to the Associated Press.

Video taken by a bystander of the ride in action captured a crashing sound. The Great Allentown Fair once featured a smaller version, but it is no longer in the fair's ride package, a state official said.

Two days after the incident and government ordered shutdown, the state fair reopened "low impact" rides and its "Kiddieland".
