GETTYSergi Roberto is attracting interest from Manchester United and Chelsea

Sergi Roberto

Manchester United are prepared to trigger Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto's £36m release clause, according to Spanish publication Don Balon. Chelsea are also a suitor for the midfielder-turned-right-back and could also come in with an offer.

The former Atletico Bilbao boss is most likely to use new recruit Nelson Semedo in the full-back position, and even if Roberto is shifted to his favoured midfield position, he will have to fight with Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, and Andres Gomes for a place in the starting lineup.

The Spaniard will always be remembered for his dramatic last-gasp winning goal in the Champions League round of 16 match against PSG last season, where Barcelona secured a memorable comeback, winning the game 6-1.

Following the incredible departure of Neymar to Champions League rivals PSG, Barcelona can not afford to see another first-team player exit the Camp Nou this summer.

Wenger explains why Arsenal trio were missing against Chelsea
But he did say that he expects Spanish striker Lucas Perez to leave after a frustrating debut season. And as poorly as last season went (besides an FA Cup), I can not wait to begin again with Arsenal .

The player, though, could be set to leave the club, with Manchester United and Chelsea both interested.

Jose Mourinho has spoken to Barcelona's Sergi Roberto about a move to Man United.

The same report also claims that Chelsea are considering a move for Roberto, with Antonio Conte increasingly keen to add to his squad before the transfer window closes.

It will be interesting to see if the club changes its stance on the player's unavailability or the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are forced to look elsewhere to reinforce their respective squads.
