A man has been jailed after a British model was attacked in Italy and taken to a remote farmhouse in a suitcase, where she was detained for six days while her captors tried to auction her off online, Italian police have said.
The woman, 20, had arrived in the city to take part in a photo shoot arranged through her agent, but was abducted and held captive for six days.
According to court documents, the woman was drugged by her abductor and held in a small town in the north-western Piedmont region of Italy.
Her captors then dropped off the model July 17 at the British Consulate in Milan.
The 20-year-old woman, who has not been named, was allegedly kidnapped by two men on 11 July as she turned up for a fake photo shoot.
The websites for the auctions included a description of the victim and a starting price but police said it was still unclear whether the suspect had made them up.
A statement from Milan police headquarters detailed the woman's ordeal.

Police say the model was freed after discovering she had a young son, which broke the vile group's rules to exclude mums.
As reported by the Daily Beast, on receiving the ransom demand from Herba, the United Kingdom modeling agency contacted the police, whereupon he negotiated with them to return the model for a fee of $60,000, saying he would kill her if they did not comply. He was jailed for investigation of suspected kidnapping for extortion purposes.
The kidnappers then started blackmailing her modelling agency, demanding USD$300,000 (A$377,000) in ransom, Italian authorities said.
Officers are now investigating the incident after the man was captured with the model.
They also traced his mobile phone and tracked down a taxi driver who gave him a lift and were able to lie in wait at the Consulate for him.
The woman's modelling agency then contacted police and Herba reportedly negotiated a ransom for about USD$60,000 ($75,000) with them.
