This press briefing is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.

On Friday, it was announced that Sean Spicer is resigning as press secretary, reportedly because he was unhappy about Anthony Scaramucci becoming White House communications director. "They know they can not talk to me, so what influence are they buying?" he told the New York Times in January.

The news reflects the alleged uncertainty brewing among White House staff.

Ever since being appointed as the White House Press Secretary, Spicer had emerged as the house hold name in the USA and globally, often facing tough questions from the media.

Spicer's abrupt and angry departure - which caught even senior West Wing staffers by surprise - reflects the latest upheaval in a White House that has been consumed by chaos and staff infighting since nearly the day President Trump took office.

White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be conducting an on-camera briefing on Friday afternoon, following White House press secretary Sean Spicer's resignation.

UPDATE: Spicer will be staying on through August, although the last shreds of his dignity appear to have already left. Fans on Twitter hope they'll be seeing McCarthy's Spicer return in some capacity, though they are devastated that "SNL" won't be able to present any more Spicey press briefings.

Keepers seal win for Arsenal over Bayern
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi equalized in the 90th minute as the game ended 1-1 at full-time which led to penalties. Arsenal sub keeper Emiliano Martinez was the shootout hero against Bayern Munich in the sweltering heat of Shanghai .

Upon reflection, that's not all that far from a typical Friday news cycle in Trump's America.

These developments appear to be the first steps in a long-promised communications shakeup at the White House, which has struggled to stay focused amid the unfolding Russian Federation collusion story.

During the Republican primary for the 2016 election, Scaramucci lambasted then-candidate Donald Trump during an appearance on the Fox Business channel.

Spicer, whose frequent portrayals on "Saturday Night Live" made him a household name, has been widely criticized by the media and Democrats for blunders and misleading statements he has made at the podium.

"This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, both in person and around the globe", said Spicer on January 23, 2017.

Now the vice president and chief strategy officer for the U.S. Import-Export Bank, Scaramucci would be expected to leave that position should accept the offer at the White House.

"If you want to eat an elephant, you have to eat it one bite at a time", he said.
