Owen Lennon, who lived in Harriman but grew up in Ramapo, was one of 15 Marines who perished in the crash. According to the investigation, this transport plan was carried small arms ammunition and weapons with 16 military man's, 16 marines and a navy corpsman.

The KC-130 air tanker was carrying members of an elite Marine special operations unit cross-country for training in Arizona when it crashed in the Mississippi Delta, the military said. It was a KC-130T from Marine Aerial Refueling and Transport Squadron (VMGR) 452, Marine Air Group-49, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve based out of NY. Family members of the fallen service members have been notified, but military officials are withholding the names until 24 hours after the next-of-kin notification.

All of the bodies will be flown to Delaware. "He will be missed, and I send my condolences and prayers to his family and friends".

Often used for airborne refueling, the KC-130, made by Lockheed Martin Corp., also can be used to deliver cargo, troops and equipment.

The KC-130T is one of the older variants of the aircraft in use with the Marine Corps.

Officials did not release information on what caused the crash. Some fog has accumulated in the field near the crash site.
