Quentin Tarantino developing film about Manson family murders

Quentin Tarantino is reportedly working on a movie about Charles Manson

The Manson Family murders have been adapted into feature films before, including the 1976 tv movie Helter Skelter (which was remade in 2004), and the short-lived NBC television series Aquarius.

The Hollywood Reporter sources' claim the film is in early stage as Tarantino is finishing off the script.

Manson and other members of his cult were sentenced to life imprisonment, where he remains to this day aged 82. She and four others were slain in her and Polanski's house - where Manson believed a record producer who rejected him lived. So far, the talks are underway, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence are on the board. Tarantino will reportedly team up once again with producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein, and they are now pitching the project, which will mark the director's first time making a movie about real life events, to studios for help in financing and distributing.

While a release date is yet to be set, it is based on Greg King's book Sharon Tate and the Manson Murders. Deadline reports Austrailian actor Margot Robbie is being considered to play Tate, but the Hollywood Reporter says Jennifer Lawrence's has also been tossed into the ring.

Pitt will most likely play the detective that will investigate the murder.

Regarding the plot, "one of the story's centers on Sharon Tate", who was married to the director Roman Polanski when she and a houseful of people fell victim to the Manson family. They have executive produced many Quentin Tarantino projects in the past including Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. But I'm just spit-balling here. if we can expect any one thing of a late Tarantino picture, it's this: Film Twitter is going to be a brutal place when the thing finally hits. But there's no doubt that Tarantino's penchant for eccentric storytelling will bring a fresh take to this abominable story.
