Holiday travelers are amazed at Ohio gas prices

Gas prices steady

The number of people traveling by vehicle is expected to increase by 2.9 percent over this weekend last year, travelers reaching their destination by air is expected to increase 4.6 percent over last year, and all other modes of transportation (including trains, buses, and cruise ships) should increase by about 1.4 percent.

AAA Northeast said Monday that the price of self-serve, regular dropped by two cents this week, averaging $2.18 per gallon.

According to AAA Kansas, with the record-breaking Independence Day holiday travel weekend underway, average gas prices in Kansas continue their steady decline this summer.

Nationwide, the last time gas prices were this cheap for the Independence Day holiday was 2005. So watch those gas tax changes when you cross state lines.

Bhutan has also lodged a strong protest with the Chinese government through its embassy in New Delhi on the same day. Rawat had said that India is prepared for security threats posed by China, Pakistan as well as by internal threats.

According to gasbuddy.com, Ohio's prices average around $1.95 per gallon.

SC continues to register the lowest average in the nation at $1.90, followed by Alabama at $1.96, according to AAA.

Motorists in 94 Kansas communities are now enjoying average prices of $2 per gallon or less, AAA Kansas notes. That year, the price on July 4 was $2.23 per gallon, which was the first time gas prices ever rose above the $2.00 mark for the holiday. This would lead to an overall increase of roughly 8.9 percent over last year - which is mostly being attributed to the lowered cost in fuel and a slight uptick in employment and income over the last year.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $2.09 to a high of $2.49.
