Portugal coach Fernando Santos gives Bernardo Silva ankle injury update

This afternoon, Portugal defeated Mexico to win the third place at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russian Federation.

Portugal had Nelson Semedo sent off for a second booking after 106 minutes, and Mexico's Raul Jimenez was shown the red card six minutes later as both sides went all out for the win.

The Portuguese team edged out Mexico with a 2-1 extra-time win.

The final of the tournament will be played between Germany and Chile later in the day.

The Israeli air force struck at a Syrian military position after what the Israel Defense Forces called a "mortar" landed in the Golan Heights .

And Portugal made no mistake with their second penalty of the match 15 minutes into extra-time, Adrien Silva converting confidently after Miguel Layun had blocked Martins' flick with a raised arm.

The biggest difference between then and now is that Portugal has given permission to Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the team as he welcomed twins.

Luis Neto opened the scoring in 54th minute, giving Mexico the lead until Portugal defender, Pepe, saved them with an unexpected shot in injury time (90′).

Yesterday, Bernardo was limited to gym practice as a precaution and today he returned to training, but Portugal coach Fernando Santos is still uncertain if he will be able to face Mexico on Sunday.
