Xbox Backwards Compatibility - Microsoft deal big blow to Xbox One owners
26 June 2017, 01:55 | Denise Dawson
Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer has been talking far and wide about Xbox One X this week, this following the console's grand unveiling on Sunday night during Microsoft's press conference. So, when I stood on-stage and I said this will be the best place to play all those games, there's nothing technically that would keep any developer from not making that true. Microsoft showed the new Xbox One X at E3 2017 and it is a lovely machine but inessential.
The $499 price of the Xbox One X makes it the most expensive current-generation console in the market, with some gamers claiming that the price is too steep.
The controller is compatible with the Xbox One, Xbox One S and the upcoming Xbox One X. It is now unknown if it will be compatible with PC upon release.
"The original Xbox, OG Xbox, is a little bit easier, because that was an x86 chip it was running on".
"It won't be as big as Xbox 360, I'll tell people that", he said. Obviously when we think about UWP and the ability for games to run across console and PC, we're getting closer.
"So I think we've got work to go do there, but I think it's in our future". We've now learned more about the business side for the Xbox One X, and while the company isn't making on profit on the $500 console, it's not exactly clear if Microsoft is incurring a loss.
"We don't have the deep catalog of games on PC that we do on console, so I've had some pushback from the marketing team that, well it wouldn't necessarily be the best feature right now, because we won't have enough games, but I just want to start". He also noted that he'd like to see the Game Pass on PC as well. Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands and many other popular Xbox One games will receive free updates to take full advantage of the power of Xbox One X. Xbox will also expand the Xbox One backward compatibility library to include original Xbox classics, starting with fan favorite Crimson Skies.

Dean Richards: Was Gal Gadot underpaid?
While other DC films received criticism for their dark and drab color palettes, Jenkins's entry is bright and colorful. However, what you did get was a summary of the movie through the credits that were extremely well done.
