Asked if the president might not know of an investigation, Sekulowsaid: "I can't imagine a scenario where the president would not be aware of it".
President Donald Trump's personal lawyer said on Sunday that Trump is not under investigation in the probe into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 USA presidential race, adding that the president has not received any notification that he is being investigated.
"When I have been crystal clear that the president is not and has not been under investigation".
On "Fox News Sunday", Sekulow said that he was certain the president was not under investigation because he had received no notification or other indication that he was.
The Washington Post story cited five officials who had been briefed on interview requests from special counsel Robert Mueller with three top intelligence officials to see if Trump had attempted to obstruct justice.
Barak Cohen, a former Justice Department lawyer and now a defence attorney specializing in white-collar crime and investigations, said there was no requirement that the special counsel notify Trump he was under investigation, so the lack of such notice meant nothing.
"That tweet was in response to a Washington Poststory that ran with five unnamed sources, without identifying the agencies they represented, saying that the special counsel had broadened out his investigation to include the president", he said.
"So the response there is clear and I want be really clear about this", he added.
On Meet the Press, Sekulow stressed that the president isn't even under investigation.
"You're right, Chris. I can not read the mind of the special prosecutor", Sekulow responded.
The attorney, Jay Sekulow, appeared on several Sunday news programs to counter the impression that Trump has acknowledged he's become a target of the expanding Russian Federation probe. The source said investigators have sought information from Richard Ledgett, who recently retired as deputy NSA director and, the source said, had written a memo documenting an attempt from Trump urging Rogers to tamp down on the FBI's Russian Federation investigation. "The tape will speak for itself; you said he is being investigated". "The president can not be investigated, certainly can not be found liable, for engaging in an activity he clearly has powers to do under the Constitution".
Wallace then asked if Trump believes the law allows for a president to be indicted. He said he had only been discussing the constitutional problem posed if the president were being investigated. "He can not in a Twitter statement include all of that in there, but The Washington Post statement came out that morning".
"No. I just gave you the legal theory of how the Constitution works". "But the president, as James Comey said in his testimony [to a Senate committee earlier this month] and as we know as of today, the president has not been and is not under investigation".
Trump adviser Newt Gingrich said on ABC's "This Week" that the tweet Friday "didn't help him".

Wallace: But you just said two times that he's being investigated.
