Report: White House Considering New Role for Spicer, Bringing in New Spokesperson

Spicer Will Likely No Longer Handle Daily Press Duties, Takes on New WH Role

Trump has previously threatened to stop holding press briefings entirely and the White House communications team have previously held audio-only gaggles.

White House correspondent Jim Acosta reports on Twitter that Spicer could move into a new senior role with White House communications, which would open the spot at his podium.

At a press conference in Trump Tower, the then-president-elect criticized CNN for reporting on the unverified dossier about him.

The CNN reporter said he would like to ask Spicer if he is holding conversations with the president about issues like climate change, but that such interactions would not be on camera of recorded due to the White House's "stonewalling". The president has both praised and castigated Spicer for his performances at the briefing room podium but has never told him he was in danger of being fired.

In recent weeks, a number of Spicer's question-and-answer sessions with reporters have been conducted off-camera, including on Monday.

In last year's championship series the Cavs roared back from a 3-1 deficit to spoil the Warriors' record-setting 73-win season. NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant has a player option for next season and is also expected to return to the Warriors.

"We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation".

Previous reports have said that President Trump is looking to shake up his communications team, especially in the aftermath in the firing of former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey. "No decisions have been made".

Acosta also railed at Spicer dodging questions, charging, "The White House press secretary is getting to a point, Brooke, where he is just kind of useless".

Separately, Politico reported on Monday that the search for Spicer's replacement is well underway: Fox News contributor and radio host Laura Ingraham has already been interviewed for the gig.
