THE MUELLER LEAKS CONTINUE: WaPo Reports Special Counsel Is Investigating Jared Kushner's Business Dealings

Special counsel is reportedly investigating Jared Kushner's business dealings

Mueller, who is investigating whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice, will also be probing Kushner's business dealings and finances.

"They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story", he wrote on Twitter.

An hour later, the president took to Twitter again, tweeting: "You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!"

"It would be a catastrophic mistake, but he doesn't have the authority to do it", Republican senator Susan Collins of ME told reporters.

The 36-year-old is reported to have been bothered by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's decision to appoint Mueller as the special counsel.

A spokesman for the office of the special counsel declined to comment, and so did a representative for the director of National Intelligence.

As Mueller's probe continues, Vice President Mike Pence has retained private counsel over this matter.

Cullen is a former federal prosecutor who has long ties to former FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired on May 9.

Tensions escalated with Mueller's latest moves.

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is investigating the finances and business dealings of Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and adviser, as part of the probe into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, according to officials familiar with the matter.

Doctors expect Scalise to walk again
Doctors expect Mr Scalise will eventually be able to walk and return to work at "full capacity". Lobbyist Matt Mika was shot multiple times and critically injured and remained hospitalized.

"We do not know what this report refers to", said Jamie Gorelick, a lawyer for Kushner.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has brought 13 lawyers on board to handle the Russian Federation investigation, with plans to hire more, according to his spokesman Peter Carr. Mr. Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about Russia-related matters.

'He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry'.

On Thursday, Kushner's lawyer said any such scrutiny of Kushner's business would be "standard practice".

Based on accounts of people familiar with the investigation, the reports say Mueller plans to interview Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, National Security Agency (NSA) Director Michael Rogers and former NSA Deputy Director Richard Ledgett. Comey confirmed that in his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last week. Burr said they discussed questions that Coats told lawmakers he couldn't answer in public last week at a hearing, as well as the budget for intelligence for the next fiscal year.

Jared Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump attend a news conference at the White House in Washington, US, March 17, 2017. "It will be a closed hearing", Adam Schiff of California, the panel's top Democrat, told reporters.

Mueller's inquiry includes Kushner among other Trump's associates - former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and a campaign policy adviser Carter Page, The Washington Post claimed citing unnamed sources on Thursday.

Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Trump's outside attorney, Marc Kasowitz, slammed the Post's reporting.

The Washington Post had earlier reported that investigators were scrutinizing separate meetings that Kushner held with Russians in December - first with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and then with Sergey Gorkov, the head of a state-owned Russian development bank.
