MUSiC MACHINE The Home Pod has just been unveiled at WWDC in California
But the product seems directly inspired by existing smart speakers from Amazon and Google.
After months of speculation, Apple has finally launched its "smart" speaker, the HomePod. It is designed primarily to work along with Apple Music.
The speaker featuresApple'sSiri voice assistant which can play songs for users on requests such as "Hey Siri, play more songs like this?", "Play something new" or even a specific request such as "What was the top song on May 5th 2016?"
According to the company, the Siri-powered smart speaker is created to "reinvent home music", much in the way that the iPod did for portable music.
"We're open to that", Limp said, according to CNET.
How does it line up?
On the WWDC 2017 stage, Apple highlighted the HomePod's music capabilities, including but not limited to its woofer and an array of seven tweeters. Unfortunately, Siri is tied to Apple Music, which means that Spotify and Amazon Prime Music aren't available (at least for now). Granted, the other two are much smaller in size than the HomePod and naturally would weigh less.
Apple has introduced the HomePod, a voice-controlled speaker that will help carry out small tasks for the user such as turning on the light or increasing the temperature.
There are only a few such smart speakers now that adjust the sound output based on their presence and the number of speakers in the same room. Notably, Google Assistant has made the move from Google's own Pixel smartphone to third-party smartphones and devices.
His comments came in the wake of the HomePod announcement - Apple'sEcho competitor - during Apple's developer conference on Monday.
In sports, teams playing on their home turf, in front of their fans, are afforded a distinct advantage when it comes to the final score. To listen to music from a library or any other services, you'll need to stream them via Airplay from an iPhone or iPad. Google Home has Pandora, YouTube Music, Google Play Music, Pandora and a few others. Apple HomePod offers less flexibility, thanks to the closed ecosystem approach of Apple. So far it is hard to tell.
While Amazon Echo is certainly not cheap at its 50 dollar price tag for the Echo Dot, it's the cheapest one of the three.
However, it still lacks some features that Amazon and Google's products already have. It will be priced at $349 with White and Space Grey color options.
