As reported by The New York Times today, Josh Brown of CNBC's Halftime Report tweeted early this morning that the Golden State Warriors had decided not visit the White House, which is customary for national sports champions.

Shortly before the team issued its statement, Warriors owner Joe Lacob was asked about a potential White House visit during an interview with ESPN's First Take.

"I laughed when I saw the report that the guys had a vote, like can you imagine a whole team like celebrating a championship, pouring champagne on each other, 'Hey hey wait hold up guys, hold up!" Some members of the New England Patriots were absent from the team's visit to the White House in April, after the team won the Super Bowl the month before, according to ABC. The reports did not specifically cite President Trump as a reason, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr and star Stephen Curry have been particularly critical of Trump since the election.

David West and the Golden State Warriors claimed the Larry O'Brien trophy last night.

The defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs chose to visit the White House in January to celebrate their historic 2016 title with former IL senator and outgoing President Barack Obama before he left office.

The President is Donald Trump and the Warriors are, well, the Warriors. "I think we handle (the White House situation) when it gets there".

Qatar 3 South Korea 2: Al Haydos double holds off fightback
Team Korea answered with a goal from Ki Sung-yueng in the 62nd-minute, and Hwang Hee-chan leveled the score eight minutes later. But China, led by 2006 World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi, scored its own penalty in the 68th when Gao Lin converted.

"We all know (that it is getting worse)", he said.

A precedent has been set that outstanding performers in sport will be honoured at the White House.

Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank made the comment to which Curry shot back later: "I agree with that description", Curry said, "if you remove the "et" from asset.

Dub Nation is severing diplomatic ties with the White House.

"We respect the office of the presidency of the United States and what it stands for. But, honestly, it's a tough call".

That is, should they receive an invitation.
