Pence's decision comes less than a month after Trump hired his own private attorney, Marc E. Kasowitz, to help navigate the investigations related to the Russian Federation probe, and a day after The Washington Post reported that special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is widening his investigation to examine whether the president attempted to obstruct justice.

Vice President Mike Pence has hired his own lawyer to represent him in the special counsel's Russian Federation investigation.

Pence has retained Virginia attorney Richard Cullen, who previously served as a US attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, spokesman Jarrod Agen said. He's had experience in dealing with Washington investigations from Watergate to the Iran-Contra affair, according to his biography on the firm's website.

Vice President Mike Pence told leaders of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador that the USA shares their goal of improving their economies, which coincides with a Trump agenda that includes stronger border enforcement and less illegal immigration.

Flynn was forced to resign after misleading Pence about his contacts and conversations Sergey Kislyak, Russia's ambassador to the USA, during the transition.

More than 200 companies of security forces are additionally being deployed for the security of the yatris in Jammu and Kashmir . This year the annual yatra will take off on June 29 and culminate on the Raksha Bandan Day, which falls on August 7.

Pence has fumbled publicly in the past while addressing the Trump campaign's Russian ties.

Cullen's hiring was first reported by the Washington Post.

In a tweet Thursday morning, Trump called the Post's report "phony".

But at Thursday night's congressional baseball game, for which lawmakers were practicing when they were fired upon, Pence said the best of America will shine. He delivered an on-camera statement sharply criticizing James Comey after the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director's recent testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. He also told the Senate Intelligence Committee in his June 8 testimony that he believed Trump had directed him to drop a related agency investigation into the president's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

The vice president's office said Pence is committed to cooperating in the investigation, and he hired lawyer Richard Cullen so Pence could continue to focus on the administration's goals. He has defended large corporations in Department of Justice investigations, and served as Virginia's attorney general in the late 1990s.
