Blast kills several in Pakistan's Balochistan
Soldiers guard a vehicle after a bombing next to a convoy of deputy chairman of the Pakistan Senate, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, in Mastung, Pakistan May 12, 2017.
The region where the blast occurred is around 70 kilometres from provincial capital Quetta.
Most of the people who were killed in the attack belong to Haider's party.
"It was a powerful blast and 25 people have been killed with 45 injured", Balochistan government spokesman Anwar-ul- Haq said.
While some injured are being treated within Mastung's hospitals, others were shifted to Quetta Civil Hospital and CMH. So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attack vowing that such cowardly attacks could not deter his country's resolve and efforts against terrorism.
Mr Haideri's political party, the pro-Taliban Jamiate-Ulema Islam (Assembly of Islamic Clerics), has hundreds of madrassas throughout Baluchistan.

The Senator was slightly wounded but driver and the director staff at the senate accompanying him both were killed, officials confirmed.
"It was all very sudden", Haideri said. "I am injured but safe".
"We don't have any clear planning or strategy to deal with extremist groups", he said. "Broken pieces of the windshield hit me".
Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani and Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan also condemned the attack. Haideri's vehicle, created to be bullet-resistant, was badly damaged along with several other vehicles in the convoy. "The driver and other people sitting next to me were badly injured", Haideri said on private TV channel SAMAA.
Separatist militants in Balochistan have also waged a campaign against the central government for decades, demanding a greater share of the gas-rich province's resources. Rabbani said that "terrorists can not deter [the] nation's resolve against militancy through such coward attacks".
The province was rocked by a series of attacks late previous year that claimed over 180 lives and raised concerns about a growing militant presence.
